Spending more time at home with the kids? There are heaps of online learning options available and fun virtual activities to keep your family active and entertained.

Fun & Educational Games

ABC Kids is home to trusted and loved preschool programs. There are lots of fun, educational and interactive games to choose from where kids can learn, play and explore with games, apps, songs, craft and much more.

In particular, the ABC Kids Play app is great for younger children and features oodles of games from kids favourites Giggle & Hoot, Bananas in Pyjamas and Play School!

The ABC Listen app is also worth downloading for storytelling time with heaps of music and educational stories designed to entertain busy young minds.  

Virtual Tours

Keep the kids engaged and entertained with virtual tours and 360 videos. 

Australian Museums

Heap of Australia’s best galleries and museums are offering virtual tours, including Queensland Museum, the Gallery of Modern Art, Melbourne Museum, Sydney’s Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, Melbourne Museum and the National Gallery of Victoria.

Travel Australia

Experience all the amazing sights Australia has to offer virtually. Go swimming with the sea lions, take a hike along the Three Capes Track in Tasmania or hang out with the kangaroos on Kangaroo Island in South Australia. 

Visit the Zoo

Kids can now observe and learn about animals and native Aussie wildlife from the comfort of the lounge room. Zoos Victoria and Australia Zoo have stacks of experiential videos for kids to watch, while Sydney Aquarium, SEA LIFE Melbourne,SEA LIFE Sydney and Wild Life Sydney Zoo  are running daily animal live streams.

Art & Drawing

Drawing Geek is a brilliant YouTube channel to guide kids with drawing their favourite characters and animals. Taking the time to be creative is a therapeutic outlet for kids to express themselves and calm their minds.*

Move and Play

Exercise is an amazing tool to keep kids moving, healthy and happy. Australian Ballet are running free morning classes for budding little dancers and fitness guru Joe Wicks is offering online PE classes every Monday-Friday suitable for all ages. Fun for the kids and the adults can get involved too!

Virtual Play Dates

Interacting socially with kids their own age is vital for child development and wellbeing. Whether they want to virtually hang out with a group of schoolmates or chat one-on-one with their best friend, apps and websites like Zoom, FaceTime and WhatsApp make it super easy for them to have some digital time with peers.
